The Recreation & Respite Adult Day Care program is designed to offer a change of pace and sense of independence to seniors with physical or memory impairments, as well as support for their caregivers.

R & R program activities include:

Caregiver Support
R & R frees Caregivers to pursue their own interests while leaving their loved ones in a safe environment. A Caregiver Support Group is also available and provides an avenue for caregivers to make new friends, get referrals, and take advantage of the opportunity to share in a supportive environment.

The R & R Team
  • Volunteers are the heart of the program. This creative and energetic group forms one-on-one relationships with participants and works in small group settings.

Classes offered include art, film, health, history, literature, music, and science. No previous educational background is necessary, just a desire and interest to learn or experience something new. Although these classes are designed for adults age 50 and over, there is no age limit for enrollment. Any adult student is welcome.

Placer County PROTECT is a multi-disciplinary elder abuse task force team focused on protecting our elderly citizens from physical, financial, and emotional abuse. We offer Aging Safely Presentations about local scams and frauds targeting our seniors.

We also have a fraud hotline (916-645-7226) seniors can call if they are worried about a scam. For any senior who wants to receive updates on local scams in the community targeting our senior citizens, join our Email Alert System by sending an email request to join to PROTECT@placer.ca.gov.

Eskaton’s Telephone Reassurance Program provides opportunities for friendship, connection, and joy. Every day, the program brings together older adults and volunteers of all ages to share experiences, stories and laughter through friendly conversation. This program is available to anyone in the US. Participants do not need to be affiliated with Eskaton. Eskaton is a senior living and aging service provider.

Beyond building meaningful connections, program staff provide the following services to participants:
  • daily cost-free calls, 365 days a year,
  • safety and wellness checks
  • access to resources and education
  • referrals to Eskaton’s social worker
  • on-call chaplain for spiritual support
  • access to support groups
