Refers home care providers to seniors and people with disabilities who qualify for In-Home Supportive Services and need assistance with domestic tasks and personal care. Refers home care providers to consumers who do not qualify for IHSS through a private pay registry. Assists care providers in completing the steps to register as an IHSS provider, including orientation, paperwork, and Live Scan fingerprinting. Assists IHSS providers with timesheets and payroll. Provides health benefits to eligible IHSS providers. Offers online and in-person training to care providers, consumers, or anyone interested in improving their skills.

The Senior Outreach Nurse program provides health services to county residents 60 years and older. Offers comprehensive health and safety assessments, health screenings, fall prevention education, medication education/management resources, and continued in-home follow-up. In-home assessments review a client's medical, social, and environmental needs and offer health education consistent with client's needs. Will discuss referrals that are appropriate for clients, and help link them to other community resources and services. Provides follow-up visits and telephone calls as needed.

Offers outreach such as community based blood pressure clinics, flu shots in conjunction with Public Health, and participate in local health/wellness programs. Flu shots can be given to seniors in their homes. Call 530-265-1470 to arrange.

Well Connected (formerly Senior Center Without Walls) and Well Connected Español are phone and online programs offering activities, education, friendly conversation, and an assortment of classes and support groups to older adults accessible from the comfort of home. The programs consist of participants, staff, facilitators, presenters, and other volunteers who care about each other, and who value being connected to engaging content, and to each other. All activities are free to participants and are available in English and Spanish.

Well Connected members can play a game, learn a language, write a poem, go on a virtual tour, meditate, share a gratitude, get support, and most importantly, connect and engage with others every day across the country. Well Connected is a Community Service of Covia and is free of charge to all participants and available to adults over the age of 60.
