Hospitality House offers a year-round, temporary, overnight emergency shelter for homeless residents of Western Nevada County who have lived in the county for 45 days or more. ID not required.

Services available to those who are staying at the shelter include:

MEDI-CAL COVERAGE IN NEVADA AND PLACER COUNTIES WILL SWITCH TO PARTNERSHIP HEALTHPLAN OF CALIFORNIA ON JANUARY 1, 2024.
-----------------Offers non-emergency medical transportation to medically necessary appointments to those who cannot drive themselves there. To ask for Medical Transportation please call Anthem Blue Cross Transportation Reservations at 877-931-4755 at least five business days (Monday-Friday) before your appointment or call as soon as you can when you have an urgent appointment. There is no advance requirement for dialysis, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, urgent care, wound care or discharges. Transportation can be scheduled up to 30 days in advance.

Have your member ID card ready when you call.

Anthem Blue Cross partners with a number of third parties, including  LogistiCare, to provide non-emergency medical transportation.

Nevada County Now offers paratransit and senior on-demand dial-a-rides. There is no Sunday service. Service area includes Grass Valley, Nevada City, Penn Valley, Lake Wildwood, and other local areas (see link to map in Web Pages section below).

PARATRANSIT
The County of Nevada Transit Services administers an origin-to-destination/door-to-door paratransit service for persons with disabilities who, due to a mental or physical disability, are unable to use the fixed-route bus system, as mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Volunteer Drivers
Placer County residents can enlist a relative, neighbor, friend, or a pool of existing volunteer drivers to get them to non-emergency medical appointments, public assistance, and quality of life types of services. Volunteer drivers must have an approved application on file to receive reimbursement.

Roseville Transit provides public Local fixed-route bus service in Roseville with connections to Placer County Transit and Sacramento Regional Transit. Express Commuter routes to and from downtown Sacramento operate during peak commute hours. Dial-A-Ride provides a reservation-based shared ride bus service anywhere in Roseville for the general public. ADA Paratransit service is available throughout Roseville.

Free mobility training is available for seniors and people with special needs. Our trainers meet with you, explain the bus system and schedules, and ride with you to teach you how to travel independently. Contact Roseville Transit for eligibility information.
