The Community Engagement, Prevention and Family Support program is a resource hub for both families and individuals, connecting community members with the help they need. All services are free and available in English and Spanish.

  • Healthcare enrollment assistance (MediCal, MediCare & Covered California)
  • Healthcare navigation (referrals)
  • Housing search & retention services
  • Emergency hunger relief
  • Financial coaching
  • Moms' Cafe - Virtual Moms' Cafe for families with children. This virtual meeting is for socializing with other mothers. Nurses from Placer County Public Health will be available to answer questions. Medicare has several parts: hospital insurance, medical insurance, and a prescription drug benefit. Hospital insurance, sometimes called Part A, covers inpatient hospital care and certain follow-up care. Medical insurance, sometimes called Part B, pays for physician services and some other services not covered by hospital insurance. Prescription drug benefit, Part D, is available as well.

Call the SSA office to see whether your service needs can be met over the phone or if you'll need assistance in person.

Over the phone services can include applications for Disability, Retirement, and SSI. Prepare to provide your Social Security number as that may be needed.

The Social Security Administration's Ticket to Work Program supports career development for Social Security disability beneficiaries age 18 through 64 who want to work. The Ticket Program is free and voluntary. The Ticket Program helps people with disabilities progress toward financial independence. Individuals who receive Social Security benefits because of a disability and are age 18 through 64 probably already qualify for the program.
