2/28/22 - Nevada County aligns with state face covering guidance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).

The state of California announced changes to masking guidance on February 28, 2022:
  • Effective March 1, 2022 , the requirement that unvaccinated individuals mask in indoor public settings will move to a strong recommendation that all persons, regardless of vaccine status, continue indoor masking. 
  • Universal masking shall remain required in specified high-risk high transmission settings like public transit, emergency shelters, health care settings, correctional facilities, homeless shelters and long-term care facilities. As always, local jurisdictions may have additional requirements beyond the state guidance.

1/6/22 from CDPH - California Health and Human Services Agency Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly, and Director of the California Department of Public Health and State Public Health Officer Dr. Tomás J. Aragón, issued a joint statement on the Western States Scientific Safety Review Workgroup’s recommendation to expand eligibility for Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 booster dose to 12- to 15-year-olds at least five months after completing their primary vaccination series. 

MyTurn.ca.gov is currently being updated to reflect the expanded eligibility.
 Parents and guardians are encouraged to check with their youth’s health care provider to schedule their booster appointment. For the latest information on the Omicron variant, go to CDPH.ca.gov and to find a COVID-19 testing site, call (833) 422-4255 or visit your local county public health website.

Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center supports family caregivers of adults with chronic and disabling conditions or diseases.

Founded in 1987, Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center is part of a statewide system of resource centers serving family caregivers. Del Oro covers California’s Gold Country Counties — Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Sierra, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba — and is an independent, private, non-profit program funded by the Department of Health Care Services, Agency on Aging, Area 4, grants and private contributions.

Del Oro is dedicated to serving families caring for an adult with a cognitive impairing condition that occurred after the age of 18 (e.g., Dementia, Alzheimer's disease, stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, and frail older adults) in various counties.

DEWITT WELLNESS CENTER

The Dewitt Wellness Center is a Peer-run program where guests, consumers, and community members find a fun, supportive, and informative environment. Guests of the Wellness Center find assistance with housing resources and get help getting connected to mental health, substance use, and other services offered in the Adult System of Care and in the community.

The Wellness Center offers a wide variety of support groups, classes, and activities ranging from Men's Support Group, Ready to Rent classes, Smoking Cessation, to Walking Groups and art classes. Groups and classes are designed and facilitated by Peer Advocates and County staff to meet the needs of the Wellness Center guests.
DIGITAL COVID-19 VACCINE RECORD - CDPH

The State of California's Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record (DCVR) Portal allows Californians to download their COVID-19 vaccination record. In order for you to obtain your record:
  • COVID-19 vaccination information must have been submitted to the California Immunization Registry (CAIR2, SDIR, and RIDE) by your vaccination provider
  • All the information you enter into the DCVR Portal must match your record in the registry
At the Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record portal you enter a few details to get a link to a QR code and digital copy of your COVID-19 vaccination record. If you want to share your proof of vaccination, you can use either the electronic version you’ll get from the portal or the COVID-19 vaccine card you were given at time of vaccination.

If you are a parent or guardian and have multiple vaccine records associated with a single cell phone number or email address, enter each digital vaccine record request separately.
