CarePatrol is a free senior housing placement service that helps families find independent living, assisted living, memory care and in-home care options.

CarePatrol assesses client’s care level needs, financial needs and general preferred locations to recommend the best and safest care options.

CarePatrol’s nationally certified senior care advisors review each community’s care history and state violations in order to recommend the safest options for assisted living for seniors.

CarePatrol also helps veterans and their spouses get aid and funding for assisted living. Though CarePatrol‘s office is located in Auburn, CarePatrol services seniors all over Placer County and is responsible for traveling to a location convenient for the senior being served.

The Fire Safe Council of Nevada County has a variety of programs designed to increase fire safety in wildfire country.

• Access & Functional Needs (AFN) - Low-income senior residents or those with medical disabilities may qualify for assistance with defensible space clearing.

• Chipping Program - The Fire Safe Council of Nevada County offers low-cost ($75/hr) chipping of brush cleared for defensible space of any permanent structure, and/or 30 feet from any roadside or driveway used for evacuation purposes.

This resource is eligible for electronic referral. Organizes volunteers to make minor home repairs or modifications which are health or safety related including installation of grab bars and hand rails, repair or replacement of electrical fixtures and leaking drains, help with ramps, and minor repairs to entry steps and porches. Modifications support people with disabilities, including seniors, so that they may continue to live in their own homes.
