The California Poison Control System (CPCS) is the primary source of poison information and treatment advice for all California residents. Specially trained pharmacists, nurses, toxicologists, and health care providers quickly answer calls to 1-800-222-1222 and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. All calls are free, confidential, and language interpreters are available in over 200 languages. Callers receive personalized treatment advice and/or a referral for medical care. Free education materials can be ordered at www.calpoison.org. There are no geographic restrictions in the state of California.
