211 Travel Training offers free individual or group instruction for how to use Nevada County Connects, the Western Nevada County public bus system. The travel trainer helps people create an individualized training plan to meet their specific travel needs and goals. They learn how to plan their trip, make their journey, and build confidence in using the bus system.

211 Travel Training offers three types of instruction
1. One-On-One Travel Training - Instruction in the skills necessary for independent travel on the public bus system.
2. Public Transit Orientation for Your Group or Organization - A group activity for explaining the local transportation system. Public Transit Orientation occurs at a designated location such as a classroom, home, or office. Community Beyond Violence offers a 24 hour crisis line which is available 365 days a year to victims in crisis from domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, or dating violence, and for their friends or family members. Advocate/Counselors are available 24 hours a day for counseling and response to the hospital or law enforcement. Depending on circumstances, possible emergency transportation, food, and shelter may be available to those in crisis. All services are free, confidential and non-discriminatory.

People who are mandatorily evacuated due to wildfire or other disasters may have homeowners' or renters' insurance coverage to help with evacuation and relocation costs, even if their homes are not damaged or destroyed.

Additional Living Expense coverage, known as ALE, typically includes:
  • Food and housing costs
  • Furniture rental, relocation and storage
  • And extra transportation expenses

Who to Contact:
Residents who have been evacuated should contact their insurance agent and/or the California Department of Insurance to find out what their renter's or homeowners' policy covers and other resources that may be available to them while the mandatory evacuation orders are in place. Evacuees are urged to contact their insurance company to verify their ALE coverage provision and limits and learn about requirements to use the coverage.
