Medi-Cal offers transportation to and from appointments for services covered by Medi-Cal. This includes transportation to medical, dental, mental health, or substance use disorder appointments, and to pick up prescriptions and medical supplies.
 
There are two types of transportation for appointments. Nonemergency medical transportation (NEMT) is transportation by ambulance, wheelchair van, or litter van for those who cannot use public or private transportation. Nonmedical transportation (NMT) is transportation by private or public vehicle for people who do not have another way to get to their appointment.

Offers non-emergency medical transportation to medically necessary appointments to those who cannot drive themselves there. To ask for Medical Transportation please call Anthem Blue Cross Transportation Reservations at 877-931-4755 at least five business days (Monday-Friday) before your appointment or call as soon as you can when you have an urgent appointment. There is no advance requirement for dialysis, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, urgent care, wound care or discharges. Transportation can be scheduled up to 30 days in advance.

Have your member ID card ready when you call.

Anthem Blue Cross partners with a number of third parties, including  LogistiCare, to provide non-emergency medical transportation.

Offers routine non-emergency medical transportation as a benefit of the California Health and Wellness Medi-Cal Managed Health Care Plan. It is designed to help the member get to their health care visits, including medical or dental appointments, a pharmacy to pick up medication following a doctor's visit, and ongoing care, such as dialysis. Transportation can be to any facility that offers health care services covered under California Health and Wellness.

To make a reservation call 1-877-658-0305. Reservations are accepted Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance for Mass Transit and 3 days in advance for all other transports but no more than 30 days before your appointment.
