The Nevada County Veterinary Disaster Response Team (NCVDRT) consists of volunteers who help with animal evacuation. Volunteers are trained in advance. UNTRAINED VOLUNTEERS SHOULD NOT SHOW UP AT ANIMAL EVAC SITES.

In the event of disasters and emergencies, the Animal Control department of the Nevada County Sheriff's Office oversees animal evacuation.

CalFresh (also known as the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program or SNAP) is a federally mandated program that provides monthly food benefits to assist low-income households in purchasing nutritious food. The amount of CalFresh benefits depends on family size, income, and monthly expenses such as housing, utilities, and child care.
