From time to time the County of Nevada Office of Emergency Services receives masks and hand sanitizer Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to distribute for free to local small businesses with 25 employees or less.

The County of Nevada Office of Emergency Services (OES) is offering local small business owners, with 25 employees or less, masks and hand sanitizer at no cost. This personal protective equipment (PPE) has been made available to California small businesses through the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) in collaboration with the Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA).

PPE will be available for pick up in Western Nevada County at two locations: the Nevada County Contractors Association and the Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce. In Truckee, small businesses may pick up PPE from the Truckee Chamber of Commerce.

DEWITT WELLNESS CENTER

Due to COVID-19, the Dewitt Wellness Center remains closed to clients and community guests however, the Service Center is open Monday-Friday 1:00-5:00 pm. They are providing services and resources for those seeking housing options.

The Dewitt Wellness Center is a Peer-run program where guests, consumers, and community members find a fun, supportive, and informative environment. Guests of the Wellness Center find assistance with housing resources and get help getting connected to mental health, substance use, and other services offered in the Adult System of Care and in the community.

The Wellness Center offers a wide variety of support groups, classes, and activities ranging from Men's Support Group, Ready to Rent classes, Smoking Cessation, to Walking Groups and art classes. Groups and classes are designed and facilitated by Peer Advocates and County staff to meet the needs of the Wellness Center guests.
