The 211 Connecting Point Contact Center provides information about health and human services programs and helps callers connect to the services that best meet their needs. Services are available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and by text and instant message Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5pm. Offers help in many languages. Services are accessible to people with disabilities. The 211 Connecting Point website offers guided searches by topic with information on community programs and services.

In the event of disasters such as wildfires and winter storms, 211 Connecting Point provides timely disaster-related information via the 211 call center and website.

The American Red Cross of Northern Nevada responds to disasters and emergencies both large and small to those displaced by earthquakes, wildfires, floods, home and apartment fires, gas leaks, or windstorms; delivers preparedness, health & safety courses including CPR and First Aid certification; and, provides Services to the Armed Forces for members of the military and their families.

IF HOME IS DESTROYED IN A DISASTER
If someone knows for certain the they have lost their home in a disaster, they can call 844-236-0153 any time 24/7 to let American Red Cross know. ARC can open a case file and there may be resources available through ARC to help.

The Nevada County Veterinary Disaster Response Team (NCVDRT) consists of volunteers who help with animal evacuation. Volunteers are trained in advance. UNTRAINED VOLUNTEERS SHOULD NOT SHOW UP AT ANIMAL EVAC SITES.

In the event of disasters and emergencies, the Animal Control department of the Nevada County Sheriff's Office oversees animal evacuation.
