Provides bus service on Lake Tahoe's North Shore covering the following areas:
  • Tahoma to Incline Village
  • Tahoe City to Truckee
  • Truckee to Crystal Bay
TART transportation connects with Greyhound, Amtrak, and Truckee Transit at the Truckee Depot. Tart offers a central transfer point between bus lines in Tahoe City. Tart also offers ADA complementary service for individuals who cannot ride a public bus due to physical, mental, or other health issues. If a person qualifies, then he/she can get door to door service within the TART fixed route.

Summer TART 
(Tahoe Truckee Area Regional Transit) service as of May 25th. TART's Summer schedule offers:
  • TART offers free, hourly, daily mainline bus service to Tunnel Creek, servicing the Tahoe East Shore Trail and recreation hub on the East Shore.

Sierra Community House can provide rental assistance to qualifying individuals and households who live in Tahoe and Truckee.

Screening and Applications
Sierra Community House will screen households to assist each community member who may qualify. If households qualify, Sierra Community House will go through the application process with them so that the household may receive assistance with their rental payments.

Locations
The rental assistance scope includes anyone in Placer or Nevada counties who specifically resides in Tahoe and Truckee areas.

CalFresh is a food supplement program, formerly known as Food Stamps or SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), that helps qualified individuals obtain nutritious food.

ELIGIBILITY 
Many CalFresh customers work and are considered low income. Others may be unable to work due to lack of work or inability to work; individuals receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI and SSD), and Social Security are eligible for CalFresh. Individuals receiving or authorized to receive SSI/SSP (Supplemental Security Income/State Supplemental Payment) are eligible for CalFresh, provided all other eligibility criteria are met. 

Even if temporary, individuals and families who have experienced a change in their circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and need additional help, may apply for CalFresh. Californians can visit GetCalFresh.org to apply or call 877-847-3663 (FOOD) to be connected to their local county social service office.
