Nation's Finest's Crisis Counseling Assistance and Training Program (CCP) assists individuals and communities in recovering from the effects of a Presidentially declared major disaster through community-based outreach and psycho-educational services.

The organization was awarded a FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) grant to assist people affected by wildfires in Nevada and Placer Counties.

Anyone impacted by wildfires in Nevada or Placer County can receive free referral support, group support, and one-on-one crisis intervention. Peer workshop appointments are also available.

  • U.S. Small Business Administration representatives never charge applicants for disaster assistance, inspections or help in filling out applications.

Following a wildfire, storm, or other disaster, residents who continue to experience outage issues or other utility concerns after contacting their utility provider should submit a complaint with the California Public Utilities Commission's online form.

Be ready to provide:

  • Name of the Utility Provider
  • Full name of the customer. If you are not the customer of record, you must be authorized to discuss the account with the utility company.
  • Account Number
  • Service Address (the physical location of the service. Is it a residence or business?).
  • Mailing Address (if different from service address).
  • Area code and phone number that pertains to the dispute.
  • A phone number where we can reach you.

FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program (IHP) provides financial and direct services to eligible individuals and households affected by a disaster, who have uninsured or under-insured necessary expenses and serious needs. IHP assistance is not a substitute for insurance and cannot compensate for all losses caused by a disaster. The assistance is intended to meet your basic needs and supplement disaster recovery efforts.

IHP Assistance may include:

  • Funds for temporary housing while you are unable to live in your home, such as rental assistance, or reimbursement for hotel costs
  • A temporary housing unit, if approved for the disaster, when you are not able to use rental assistance due to a lack of available housing resources
  • Funds to support the repair or replacement of owner-occupied homes that serve as the household’s primary residence, including privately-owned access routes, such as driveways, roads, or bridges
