The Adult Reentry Grant Program (ARGP) at Hospitality House helps people with minor (non-violent and non-sexual) criminal offenses who:

• were incarcerated in California
• are currently on or off parole
• are struggling with homelessness

The program offers case management and connects people to additional resources for moving back into society.

The Coordinated Entry system provides a telephone hotline that serves as a centralized gateway for people who are homeless and in need of services in Nevada and Placer counties.

People who are homeless may call 1-833-3PLACER (1-833-375-2237) in Placer County, and 2-1-1 in Nevada County (or 877-847-0499 from outside Nevada County). Callers will be asked questions to determine their eligibility for various housing programs. Their needs are shared with participating Homeless Resource Council of the Sierras' homeless service providers.

The Homeless Resource Helplines help homeless service agencies throughout Placer and Nevada Counties better coordinate services and prioritize needs. Homeless individuals have their needs assessed in a consistent manner, and the confidential data is placed into a centralized database, the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). The Crisis Resolution Center provides trauma-informed, solution-focused services to help resolve family crises and support reunification of teens and their caregivers in Placer County.

Services are available through a 24-hour toll-free phone line and a short-term residential program for youth ages 12-17.

Services include:

• Conflict resolution and family relationship counseling
• Parent-child communication and training support
• Referrals and personal support via a 24/7 phone line
• Short-term residential care in a co-ed, six-bed facility (average stay 2-4 weeks)
• Case management with a structured, three-phase program:
  1. Orientation and crisis de-escalation
  2. Counseling and outreach
  3. Reunification and aftercare

Volunteers of America (VOA) Family Shelter, Home Start Inc. operates a non-profit emergency shelter (operating 24/7, 365 days a year) for homeless families in Placer County.

Services include:

• Intensive Case Management
• Housing advocacy
• Housing placement services
• Individual units – so rather than a nomadic shelter, each family will have their own unit
• Food (as needed)
• Support
• Live in-person support – after hours
• Life skills groups
• Ready to rent certified training

Hospitality House offers a year-round, temporary, overnight emergency shelter for homeless residents of Western Nevada County who have lived in the county for 45 days or more. ID not required.
