The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free tax assistance to qualifying individuals and families who earned less than $69,000 in 2025.

The coalition also helps educate the public on the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). VITA is available through Placer County Health and Human Services in cooperation with IRS and United Way.

FieldHaven’s Kitten Sitters program supports people caring for abandoned kittens and cats found in the community through a neighborhood-based foster model.

The program helps keep animals out of shelters by equipping caregivers with supplies, veterinary support, and training to provide short-term care in safe home environments.

Kitten Sitters receive guidance from FieldHaven staff and are encouraged to find permanent homes for the animals they help.

Everyone Matters Ministries (EMM) provides transitional housing for individuals, couples, and families through a fleet of recreational vehicles (RVs), with stays of up to 12 months.

Services include:

  • Weekly food boxes (see Food Ministry below)

Food Ministry:

EMM partners with Feeding The Foothills to provide large boxes of food every Friday to each household in the program, helping offset grocery costs. Volunteers deliver boxes directly to each home.

RVs are placed in local RV parks, and applicants must meet park income requirements (typically 2x the rent). Average space rent is around $800 per month but may vary by location.
