Adoption

Children's System of Care provides placement approval for matched families through the Resource Family Approval process, and support for parents wishing to voluntarily relinquish their children for adoption.

Fostering

Placer County provides foster care licensing and adoptive home studies to families who are interested in opening their homes. Placer County works in partnership with several community based organizations such as Koinonia Family Services, Stanford Youth Solutions/Sierra Forever Families, Lilliput Family Services, and Families for Children to recruit and educate new foster and adoptive parents.

California Children's Services (CCS) is a statewide program that treats children with certain physical limitations and chronic conditions or diseases. Most physically handicapped conditions are eligible for benefits under the CCS program. The CCS Program is funded by the state, county, and federal tax money, along with some fees paid by the parents. This tax-supported program authorizes and pays for specific medical services and rehabilitation for children by CCS-approved specialists and has a Medical Therapy Program (MTU). CCS Offers diagnostic and treatment services, medical case management, and therapy for children and youth up to age 21.

Children's Behavioral Health

Nevada County Behavioral Health Children's Mental Health serves children and youth who have Nevada County Medi-Cal and meet moderate to severe criteria for Behavioral Health Treatment: recent psychiatric hospitalization, Probation or Child Welfare involvement, significant challenges at school, homelessness, or a complex combination of concerns that may involve trauma, depression or anxiety symptoms, and housing instability.

Treatment location is based on need and can take place at the Nevada County Behavioral Health Office, schools, Family Resource Centers, or other locations convenient for the family. Eligibility

Eligibility for Placer Children's mental health services includes full scope Medi-Cal beneficiaries, and County Medical Services Program (CMSP) beneficiaries with low or no share of cost. Those who do not meet these eligibility criteria are assessed on an individual basis regarding their need for services.

The Crisis Resolution Center provides a toll-free 24-hour telephone number (available to teens and family members residing in Placer County only) for referrals, personal support, advice, and counsel to teens and parents/caregivers/guardians in crisis.

The Crisis Resolution Center provides solution-focused, trauma-informed, and person focus family intervention; which resolves family crises and establishes reunification of children ages 12-17 with their families. The Crisis Resolution Center, located in Loomis California, is a six-bed (co-ed) facility with counseling services, fully licensed and professionally staffed to provide short-term out-client family services and short-term residential care.
