The Town of Truckee offers both Fixed Route and Dial-A-Ride service in the Truckee area.

For ADA certified passengers fares are freeon the Fixed Route and on the Dial-A-Ride (click link to download the ADA Application:https://www.townoftruckee.com/home/showdocument?id=7969).

These services provide a range of options for travelers to access recreation, employment, shopping, and social service opportunities while helping our region’s environment.

CALSTAR is an emergency air ambulance provider serving Northern & Central California. We work cooperatively with medical facilities throughout our service area to transport patients to the most appropriate facility for care.

Helicopter bases are located in:

• Concord
• Auburn
• Ukiah
• Gilroy
• Merced
• Modesto
• Salinas
• Santa Maria
• South Lake Tahoe

Each base's service area covers approximately 150 miles.

Our fixed wing base, located in Sacramento, provides inter-facility transports throughout the western United States.

CALSTAR provides medical transportation available on a 24-hour basis that brings rapid, on-site medical care to critically ill and/or injured patients. Dispatch is available at 1-800-252-5050.

Billing

Individuals and/or families can pay for an annual membership for Calstar services. In the event of use, the patient's insurer is billed first; if there is a remainder fee and you have an annual membership, that fee is waived.

Creates an alternative for people who are eligible for the regular CalWORKs cash assistance program but are not currently participating in the program. Offers a lump-sum payment which would address employment related or temporary problems such as transportation, personal needs, housing and utility costs, or child care expenses.

Truckee Chamber of Commerce represents the Truckee area's business community and assists in the development and promotion of local business and tourism. 

Located in the Train Depot that serves as a Transportation Hub for local, regional, and interstate travel. Stop for two Amtrak trains daily (one eastbound and one westbound); Greyhound and Amtrak buses.

Manages the California Welcome Center that provides information including maps and regional and state-wide information, transportation, local attractions, activities, amenities, information about lodging and local restaurants, business referrals, and relocation packets.

Coordinates the Good Morning Truckee community forum which provides timely and relevant information on a variety of topics on a monthly basis.

Facilitates the North Lake Tahoe Truckee Leadership Program that enables the area's emerging leaders to build their leadership skills, while becoming familiar with the critical issues facing the Truckee Tahoe region.

The Children’s Community Chest Program is a discretionary emergency fund of last resort to meet the needs of children ages 0-18 in Nevada and Sierra County families for whom no other community support is available or who find themselves in a situation that requires a timely response. The eligibility area includes parts of the Tahoe-Truckee region that are in Nevada County or Sierra County. 

A variety of hardships are funded, such as: emergency rental assistance, transportation needs, utility payment to avoid shut-off, car repairs, medical related costs, counseling services and summer camps.

This is truly a funding of last resort.
