The National Weather Service Sacramento has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for portions of Nevada County beginning Saturday morning  9/3/22 through Tuesday evening 9/6/22. Higher temperatures can be dangerous for all people, especially the very young, senior citizens, pregnant women, and those with chronic medical conditions. Nevada County's Office of Emergency Services partners with Nevada County Public Health to review our plans for Excessive Heat Emergencies during high-heat events.
 
Nevada County's Department of Social Services is activating Cooling Centers for residents due to extreme daytime temperatures and minimal overnight recovery.

The 2022 California CareForce Nevada County Free Health Care Clinic will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 15, 16, and 17. It will happen with support from community organizations, and professional and general volunteers. Over the two and a half days, hundreds of patients will receive medical, dental, and vision services free of charge.

The clinic is open to anyone needing services (people do not need to be Nevada County residents).

The clinic requires a multitude of volunteers. Professional medical volunteers are needed to complete the general medical, dental and vision exams and procedures. General volunteers are needed to help with setup, prep, food service and other odd jobs during the three days. See below for links to info about how to volunteer.
