Wayfinder Family Services has four programs serving Placer County. Three are direct referrals and one requires a call to the Placer County Mental Health Access line.

Kinship Support Services Program – call directly for referral. Wayfinder’s Kinship Support Services Program (KSSP) supports grandparents, extended family members or close family friends who step up to raise children so they avoid the trauma of separation from their birth family. KSSP is free of charge to families.

Home to Stay – can call directly or be referred by a provider. Home to Stay offers counseling and support services to kinship and birth families who are at high risk for out of home placement in Placer County. Wayfinder provides short-term in home counseling and parent education to enhance parenting skills, building supports and mitigating behavioral health risks to youth and families. Kaleidoscope of Employment for Youth Success - KEYS is a collaborative project between the Placer County Office of Education Foster Youth Services (FYS), the Department of Rehabilitation, and PRIDE Industries. This program is designed to ensure successful employment outcomes for foster youth, ages 16-19, who have significant barriers to employment.​​

Placer County foster youth, ages 16-19 years old, are matched with individual Job Developers who provide pre-employment support and assistance with obtaining and retaining employment local in a field of interest.

Eligible youth must have a significant barrier to gaining employment, including a mental health diagnosis, physical disability or special education designation. Proof of eligibility will be requested.

Give an Hour is a national nonprofit that provides barrier-free mental health counseling through their network of mental health professionals. Volunteers work one hour per week for one year with people who qualify for our services. Current clients include service members, veterans, their loved ones, and those affected by natural and man-made disasters. In order to participate in the Give an Hour network, providers must register with the non-profit.
