Services
The Behavioral Health Department provides a wide variety of Adult Mental Health Services to the public, particularly for Medi-Cal recipients and those with severe mental illness. These include Mental Health Services and Alcohol and Other Drug Services. County employees provide some services, while contracted individuals and organizations provide other services, with County monitoring.

Service Range
This continuum of care ranges from acute inpatient to routine outpatient services, and includes medication services, psychotherapy, residential services, wellness and recovery, care management, long term institutional care and vocational services. Adult Services monitors the delivery of services to ensure that State standards are met for quality, timeliness and authorization.

Auburn Renewal Center (ARC) is a free medical clinic located on the grounds of the Auburn Seventh-day Adventist church. Auburn Renewal Center offers basic medical services to the under-insured, uninsured, and unsheltered residents of the greater Auburn area. Clinic is primarily for people 18 years old, low income, uninsured, under-insured, unsheltered. Children over 8 can be seen on a case by case basis.

Services are every Tuesday 9am-1pm, and Thursdays by appointment.

Blue Sky Counseling Center provides quality counseling services to individuals and their families in a private, safe, and nurturing environment.

They use brief solutions-based counseling for most situations, including Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) (DBT), MI, Adolescent Developmental, ACT, Systems Centered (SCT), Interpersonal, Christian, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic, Music Integration, Choice, Parent Project, and Love and Logic, also Humanistic Theories.

They also provide victim witness counseling services and have a Spanish-speaking provider.

Children's Behavioral Health
Nevada County Behavioral Health Children's Mental Health serves children and youth who have Nevada County Medi-Cal and meet moderate to severe criteria for Behavioral Health Treatment: recent psychiatric hospitalization, Probation or Child Welfare involvement, significant challenges at school, homelessness, or a complex combination of concerns that may involve trauma, depression or anxiety symptoms, and housing instability.

• Support through service coordinators
• Home based wrap around support for children and families who need more intensive care

Treatment location is based on need and can take place at the Nevada County Behavioral Health Office, schools, Family Resource Centers, or other locations convenient for the family. Therapists are trained in a variety of techniques and work with youth of all ages. Therapy is provided in both English and Spanish.
