Volunteers of America - Northern California & Northern Nevada’s (VOA-NCNN) Veterans Services program provides supportive services to extremely low or very low-income veterans who are facing homelessness.

Through the Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP), we offer a very comprehensive program for veterans; including housing assistance, counseling, employment training, temporary financial assistance, case management and other supportive services (e.g. access to food, household items, and furniture).

The case management services are designed to improve veteran families’ housing stability and may include assistance in securing housing, daily living needs, health care, transportation, fiduciary and payee services, legal aid, child care, financial literacy, etc.

Additionally, we connect veterans to the various resources available through Veterans Affairs and other government programs.

Recognizing the specific needs of those who served our country, Volunteers of America (VOA) provides specialized programs for homeless and at-risk veterans and their families in Yolo, Placer, El Dorado, Sacramento, Nevada, and Yuba/Sutter counties.

Services for veterans include rapid re-housing, case management and homeless prevention. A large focus is heavily placed on increasing veteran’s employment potential through job readiness and retention training.

There are two buildings about 100 yards apart - Building 1 is for assisting veterans with Housing that number is 916.228.3153. The second building is for assisting veterans with Employment that number is 916.661.5149

In Placer County, Lilliput provides a variety of services to children and families touched by foster care, adoption and kinship care.

We welcome community referrals and look for opportunities to partner with other service providers to better meet the needs of the community.

Kinship Support Services Program (KSSP): A kinship family is formed when an extended family member, such as a grandparent, aunt/uncle or sibling, steps in to raise a child when the birth parent(s) are unable or unavailable.

Families served do not have to be formally connected to the foster care system.

Legal Services of Northern California provides pension counseling at no cost to callers of all ages and income levels who live or have worked in California, Arizona, Nevada or Hawaii. There are no age or income requirements.

LSNC offers legal advice and assistance with:

• Claiming benefits
• Locating lost benefits from previous employers
• Working through the claims and appeals process
• Understanding rights as a former or surviving spouse
