CALFRESH BENEFITS – NEVADA COUNTY
CalFresh Reimbursement. The State of California will issue automatic CalFresh food benefit replacements for residents who lost food due to power outages resulting from the December 27th storm. Replacement benefits will apply to households with physical addresses in the following zip codes:

Benefit replacements will be issued as credit to Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards on January 27, 2022. The replacement amount will be 25% of regular December benefits issued December 1st through 10th and Emergency Allotments issued on December 4th.

PSPS is a Public Safety Power Shutoff event. Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) may do a PSPS when danger of wildfires is high. PSPS Care Coordination is a program to help PG&E customers who have health and medical needs that require electricity. Care Coordination helps to get a plan in place for resources that can be used during a PSPS power outage event. Callers will receive a follow up call from Connecting Point staff so they can create their plan.
 
Who qualifies?
Those who have access & functional needs, and/or are electricity dependent during a power outage (examples include medical equipment or medications that rely on power, accessibility equipment that relies on power, etc).
 
What is Care Coordination?
Care Coordination helps you create a safety plan by providing information about what to do before, during, and after a power outage. The Care Coordinator can help you:

RECOVERY NAVIGATORS FOR NEVADA COUNTY RESIDENTS
Connecting Point offers Recovery Navigators for Nevada County residents impacted by the River Fire. Call 211 or 833-342-5211 to receive a referral to a Navigator who will contact you within one business day to offer assistance during your recovery process.

Navigators will work one-on-one with individuals and families that have been impacted by the River Fire. Meeting regularly and as needed, the Navigators will be able to work with you step-by-step throughout the recovery process, provide you with resources for any need that comes up, navigate the County, State, Federal re-building processes that you will encounter, advocate for additional resources as needed, provide a physical place where you can print, fax, email, and copy documents, and keep you up to date with any updates as they are released.
