Compassion Planet serves aged-out foster and at risk youth by addressing needs such as housing, life skills, coping skills, nutrition and employment through over 1,200 hours in our year-long intensive Mentor Program.

Trainees are employed by Compassion Planet at Deer Creek Farm and Compassion Thrift Store where a variety of skills training, work experience and an individualized growth plan for each trainee is developed and tracked. Social workers, trauma informed staff and trained volunteers work alongside our trainees in an occupational environment, which provides a controlled setting to discover how everyday life choices can impact future employment, goals and dreams. This hands-on approach gives Compassion Planet the opportunity to address whole-life principles such as finances, decision-making, health, hygiene, communication, nutrition, manners, healthy relationships, character, ethics, and leadership in addition to providing the needed coaching in career development.

Academic programs feature daily tutoring in math and literacy as well as school assemblies and innovative outreach programs. STAR offers its programs and events after school and in school, on nights and on weekends, at schools, community centers, restaurant/entertainment locations, museums and more.

Adventure Clubs are state-licensed,  school-age, childcare facilities operated by the City of Roseville in conjunction with the Roseville City School District and Dry Creek Joint Elementary Districts.

Adventure Club operates multiple sites at local schools for elementary school age 
childcare (I.e., 4 years and 9 months through 12 years old) and includes after school care. Age-appropriate activities which are designed to meet a child's social, physical, and intellectual needs are offered under the guidance of trained personnel. Adventure Club childcare sites are located on school campuses at Dry Creek and Roseville City School Districts. Non-school days and vacation breaks are available too.

The Placer Sheriff’s Activities League is engaged in activities and events after school three days a week for local youth.

The events include mentoring, leadership and promote good decision making through sports and/or presentations. The program also implements a drug and gang prevention environment. Look under programs tab on website for specific details of each program.

The Placer Sheriff’s Activities League is facilitated at Parkside Church in Auburn and is hosted by a Placer County Sheriff’s Deputies, Placer County Probation, Children System of Care, Latino Leadership Counsel and KidsFirst.

The Placer Sheriff’s Activities League is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The Placer Sheriff’s Activities League, along with its partnerships, will work and provide youth with valuable life skills benefiting themselves and the community. Strives to prevent youth involvement of gangs as well as drug use.

This is a fun state licensed before and after school program for elementary school-aged children available at Alta Vista, Auburn Elementary, Bowman and Skyridge schools. Staff fulfill licensing requirements including: 18 years or older, CPR/First Aid certified and DOJ clearances. The program includes homework assistance, arts and crafts, nature study, sports, games, community service opportunities and time to play and relax with friends. Snacks are served daily. Days of operation are Monday through Friday, five days per week, when school is in session.
