Case Management

• Family Resource Center ​(FRC) staff provide advocacy, goal setting, and wellness recommendations to clients in need of support managing a difficult family situation. The majority of clients in need are referred to Lighthouse by social workers, probation officers, or other community-based organizations.

CalWORKs provides cash aid and services to eligible families that have a child(ren) in the home. The program serves all 58 counties in the state and is operated locally by county welfare departments.

If a family has little or no cash and needs housing, food, utilities, clothing or medical care, they may be eligible to receive immediate short-term help. Families that apply and qualify for ongoing assistance receive money each month to help pay for housing, food and other necessary expenses.

The amount of a family‘s monthly assistance payment depends on a number of factors, including the number of people who are eligible and the special needs of any of those family members. The income of the family is considered in calculating the amount of cash aid the family receives.

Generally, services are available to:

• Families that have a child(ren) in the home who has been deprived of parental support or care because of the absence, disability or death of either parent.

Placer Business Resource Center (BRC) also connects employers to job seekers by:

• Hosting hiring events that allow businesses and interested job seekers to meet face to face
• Advertising job openings

In collaboration with the Small Business Administration (SBA), Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), Placer School for Adults (PSA), and others, Placer Business Resource Center serves businesses of all sizes at every stage of the business life cycle. Transition Partnership Program (TPP) is a collaborative effort between the Placer County Office of Education and the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), serving students with disabilities and other impediments to employment. Through the program, participants develop important knowledge and skills to gain work.

Eligibility

• Attend high school in Placer County
• Age 16-21
• Barrier to employment (i.e., IEP, 504 plan, mental health diagnosis, physical disability, etc.)

The Salvation Army provides emergency assistance and community support for Rocklin and Roseville residents. Services include:

• Rental Assistance – Limited funds for Rocklin; none for Roseville until August 2025.
• Utility Assistance – Roseville utilities only; unavailable until August 2025.
• Food Assistance – Emergency pantry and community meals.
• Other Services – Disaster response, showers, holiday programs, childcare, job search support, and spiritual counseling.

Placer County’s Business Advantage Network provides monthly legal clinics to help eligible individuals remove or dismiss past convictions from their criminal records. 

Services are offered in partnership with Legal Services of Northern California.

Services include:

• Reviewal of records to determine eligibility for expungement or dismissal
• Assistance with documentation and court forms
• Guidance on outstanding fines, fees, or restitution
• Referrals to revenue recovery offices for verification of balances
