Housing Choice Voucher program is a part of Human Services, one of six Divisions of County of Placer Health & Human Services.

The Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV) formerly known as the Section 8 Voucher Program, is a rental assistance program to help low and very low-income families, persons with disabilities, and seniors so they can live in affordable, safe, and decent housing. This program covers all of Placer County with the exception of the City of Roseville. The City of Roseville has its own Housing Authority.

Volunteers of America (VOA) provides specialized programs for homeless and at-risk veterans and their families in Yolo, Placer, El Dorado, Sacramento, Nevada, and Yuba/Sutter counties.

Services for veterans include rapid re-housing, case management and homeless prevention. A large focus is heavily placed on increasing veteran’s employment potential through job readiness and retention training.
