Raising Placer coordinates a network of local coalitions that work to reduce youth substance use in Placer County. 

The coalitions collaborate with schools, parents, and community partners to promote healthy choices and build long-term prevention strategies.

Services include:

  • Local youth-focused substance use prevention initiatives
  • School and community collaboration to support healthy youth development
  • Public awareness campaigns and prevention messaging
  • Coordination of the Coalition for Auburn and Lincoln Youth (CALY)
  • Countywide partnership and resource sharing

Chapa-De Indian Health provides culturally grounded care for people experiencing substance use disorders. 

Services are available to all patients, with additional options for those with Medi-Cal and for American Indian patients. Locations include Auburn and Grass Valley.

Services include:

  • Routine screenings, education, brief interventions, and referrals
  • Referrals to outpatient, intensive outpatient, and residential treatment (Medi-Cal accepted)
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorders
  • Short-term case management during referral and placement into treatment
  • Culturally rooted recovery groups for alcohol use

Recovery Groups:

  • Alcohol Recovery Group (SMART Recovery model) | Support and education group open to all patients. Medical providers may discuss medication options, but medication is not required to attend.

New Dawn Treatment Centers provides substance use treatment and mental health support for adults through residential and outpatient programs. 

Services are designed for individuals with addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions.

Services include:

  • Medically monitored detox (sub-acute level)
  • Gender-specific residential treatment (30 to 90 days)
  • Intensive outpatient services
  • Evidence-based therapy, including ACT, DBT, and CBT
  • Experiential therapies, such as:
    • Equine-assisted therapy
    • Expressive arts and dance/movement
    • Acupuncture and QiGong
    • Paddleboard yoga and mindfulness practices

Programs are led by licensed clinical psychologists and supported by medical professionals, including physicians, psychiatrists, and nurses. Treatment is internationally accredited.
