Eligibility

Eligibility for Placer Children's mental health services includes full scope Medi-Cal beneficiaries, and County Medical Services Program (CMSP) beneficiaries with low or no share of cost. Those who do not meet these eligibility criteria are assessed on an individual basis regarding their need for services.

PGLAG promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons as well as their families and friends through support, education, and advocacy. Can provide suicide prevention resources.

Provides opportunities for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity by offering monthly meetings.

Children's System Of Care (CSOC) has a Crisis/Child Welfare Services (CWS) Report Line to meet the special needs of children and youth who may be at risk, and their families, in Placer County.

A telephone call can bring help in a crisis. For at-risk children in emergencies and crisis situations, a special 24-hour, 7-day a week, response program is available by calling Family and Children's Services: 916-872-6549 or toll free 866-293-1940.

Insight Counseling Group provides trauma-informed counseling services for adults, teens, children (ages six and older), couples, families, and groups. Services are available in-person at two locations or through virtual, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions.

Adult Protective Services (APS) provides intervention services to safeguard the well-being of elders and dependent adults who are experiencing or at risk of abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or financial exploitation.

Home Safe is a homelessness prevention program available to eligible APS clients who are either at imminent risk of homelessness or have recently become homeless due to abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or financial exploitation. 

Home Safe housing-related support may include:

  • Rental assistance, including back rent or security deposits
  • Utility assistance
  • Conflict mediation with landlords
  • Public systems navigation
  • Legal services and eviction protection
  • Heavy cleaning
