Provides Medi-Cal telephone support during normal business hours and an automated phone line for additional information and help after hours.

Medi-Cal phone support: 800-541-5555. The Telephone Service Center (TSC) is available 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, except holidays.

People who have straight Medi-Cal can call this number to get a list of providers in their area that take Medi-Cal. Once they have Anthem Blue Cross, California Health and Wellness, or other managed care, they will need to contact those companies directly for a list of providers.

Automated Phone Center: 800-786-4346. The automated phone center is available 7am to 8pm, Pacific Standard Time, seven days a week.

Staff includes medical and legal professionals.

Will also assist clients as to how to gain coverage through Covered California or Medi-Cal.

September 2023 - Changes in asset rules
New changes to Medi-Cal asset rules mean more people can keep their coverage. Current Medi-Cal members do not need to report assets during their eligibility renewal. A new law means assets will not be counted during Medi-Cal renewals.
• You do not need to report assets, such as bank accounts, property, and vehicles.
• You do not need to submit proof of your assets with your renewal form.
• Your Medi-Cal office cannot ask you for asset information.
• Renewal forms in 2023 will still ask for asset information. You do not need to complete this section.
• Starting in January 2024, renewal forms will no longer ask for this information.

Upcoming Changes to Placer and Nevada County Medi-Cal Managed Plans 
Beginning January 2024, Nevada and Placer County have elected to change from Anthem and California Health and Wellness to Partnership HealthPlan of California as the managed care provider for Medi-Cal recipients in their counties. Partnership HealthPlan is currently working to establish contracts with all current Medi-Cal providers so that there is no disruption to customer care. Customers are expected to receive notification of changes in October.
