Sierra Roots offers weekly meals and clothing to people who are homeless. Clothing, including socks and shoes, is available every week. Individuals can get clothing once every two weeks.

During winter months, lunch served on Thursdays at 11:30am at the First Community Church at 300 Main Street, Nevada City. 

During summer months, Thursday lunches are served at 11:30am at Pioneer Park, 421 Nimrod Street in Nevada City in the picnic area near the horseshoe pits.

NOTE: Sierra Roots does not provide motel vouchers or gas cards.

The Holy Trinity Episcoal Church serves a community meal for those in need on Tuesdays. In winter meal service may begin between 4 and 4:30pm. In summer it typically begins around 5pm.

Emergency Day Respite Center is available for day use only.

The Emergency Day Respite Center provides:

• Warm meals
• Showers (not ADA compliant or wheelchair roll-in accessible)
• Laundry
• Case Management
• Access to counseling, community, and basic necessities
• Longer-term support when possible

Offers assistance in multiple languages through a Language Line service.

HOURS
Open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1 pm to 5 pm.
Starting 2024, hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 1 pm - 5pm.

Sierra Senior Services offers community dining at the Truckee Donner Senior Apartments at 10040 Estates Drive, Truckee, CA 96161. Open to the public Tuesday through Friday from Noon-12:30pm. Visitors under the age of 60 may enjoy lunch for a contribution of $10 per meal. Voluntary contribution for seniors is $6 per meal but no senior will be turned away due to inability to contribute. 

Sierra Senior Services offers community dining at the North Tahoe Event Center at 8318 N Lake Blvd, Kings Beach, CA 96143. Open to the public Tuesday from 11:45am-1pm. Please make reservations by 4 PM the day before at 530-550-7600. Visitors under the age of 60 may enjoy lunch for a contribution of $10 per meal. Voluntary contribution for seniors is $6 per meal but no senior will be turned away due to inability to contribute.
