2024 Deer Creek Bridge Project & Road Closure in Nevada City Feb 26-Nov 1, 2024 (8 months)

On one side of Deer Creek, this closure is where Broad St becomes Boulder St intersecting with where Sacrament St becomes Nevada St. On the other side it is just toward Deer Creek from where Grove St and High St "T" into Nevada St.

From February 26, 2024 - November 1, 2024, the City of Nevada City will be working with a contractor, Golden State Bridge Inc. to reconstruct the bridge over Deer Creek at Nevada Street. The 211 Connecting Point Contact Center provides information about health and human services programs and helps callers connect to the services that best meet their needs. Services are available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and by text and instant message Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5pm. Offers help in many languages. In the event of disasters such as wildfires and winter storms, 211 Connecting Point provides timely disaster-related information via the 211 call center and website.

The caller’s answers are entered by the 211 call specialist into HUD’s Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), which can be accessed only by designated organizations that provide housing services. Callers have access to emergency shelter as well as long term/permanent housing by going through the Coordinated Entry process.

211 Travel Training offers free individual or group instruction for how to use Nevada County Connects, the Western Nevada County public bus system. The travel trainer helps people create an individualized training plan to meet their specific travel needs and goals. They learn how to plan their trip, make their journey, and build confidence in using the bus system.

211 Travel Training offers three types of instruction
1. One-On-One Travel Training - Instruction in the skills necessary for independent travel on the public bus system.
2. Public Transit Orientation for Your Group or Organization - A group activity for explaining the local transportation system. Public Transit Orientation occurs at a designated location such as a classroom, home, or office. The orientation includes: overview of local transit system; use of map and schedules for trip planning; fares, passes, and payment options.
