Offers a 24 hour crisis line which is available 365 days a year to victims in crisis from domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, or dating violence, and for their friends or family members. Advocate/Counselors are available 24 hours a day for counseling and response to the hospital or law enforcement. Depending on circumstances, possible emergency transportation, food, and shelter may be available to those in crisis.
This is one of many possible First 5 Nevada County Ready to Grow (R2G) program resources. Ready to Grow resources are those that support the well-being of children ages 0-5.

A Touch of Understanding’s mission is to encourage acceptance and respect for all individuals. ATOU's educational programs are designed to increase understanding of differences, thereby minimizing discrimination, bullying, and social isolation suffered by children and adults who are perceived as different for any reason, but especially those with disabilities.
ATOU's in-school workshop provides a potent, life-changing opportunity for students to meet people with disabilities and to experience for themselves what it may be like to have a disability. The workshop is broken up into two parts.
- Part 1: Speakers with disabilities talk about their life, their challenges, and how they achieve their goals. During the hour and a half session, students are encouraged to interact with these volunteers and ask questions.

The mission of the African American Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Association is multiple and includes seeking materials that are dedicated to the discovery of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and its many maladies. The material is then disseminated and is used to promote knowledge and stimulation of public policy discussions. This material also encourages the implementation, identification, and expansion of effective programs. It provides:
- Initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyles and long-term health consequences
- Assistance with homelessness
- Self-education

- Claims preparation for individuals with PTSD and/or other military service-related concerns

Assistance League Thrift Shop is managed and staffed completely by member volunteers and is stocked with gently-used clothing and merchandise. All funds raised at the Thrift Shop are returned to the local area through chapter programs.
Services and Volunteer Opportunities include:
- Angels for Aging - Volunteers from Assistance League provide visits, gifts, and cards to residents of Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs) in our communities. ALF's who currently have an agreement for this program are below:
- Raw Creek Care Center
- Kids on the Block - An educational puppet program performed in schools to enlighten children (in grades 1, 2, and 3) about bullying, school safety, and learning differences.
- Every single elementary school in Greater Placer area are sent the materials to sign up for this program

The Auburn Placer Performing Arts Center operates the State Theatre.
The mission is to enhance the cultural and economic environment of our community. State Theatre seats 340 patrons, has a stage 40 feet wide by 26 feet deep, a movie screen and a state of the art sound system. APPAC presents a wide range of programming including music concerts, children's show, dance, film and live plays.
