Naloxone in Nevada County

Nevada County Public Health offers free, anonymous distribution of naloxone and fentanyl test strips.

You can call or text (530) 388-6364 if you'd like more information or to make an appointment. You don't need to leave your name, but please do leave your phone number so we can get back in touch.

Nevada County Behavioral Health also offers free naloxone and fentanyl testing strips in Eastern and Western Nevada County. If you are a client of Behavioral Health, you can ask your therapist, counselor, nurse, or doctor for naloxone and/or test strips. Or, any community member can call or text for free naloxone and/or fentanyl test strips:

Sierra Community House offers Mediation and Legal Assistance which provides free and reduced cost legal services in a clinic setting for civil legal matters. All services are available in multiple languages and available on a sliding scale.

Tahoe Truckee Unified School District offers Early Learning and Care programs to eligible parents and their children ages birth to 5.

Programs include STEPP (Sierra Teen Education Parenting Program), which provides a developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 0-3 years in an atmosphere where individual interests and developmental levels are respected and celebrated. The purpose is to create a community of caring for the whole family by providing high quality child care in a safe and nurturing environment, and providing parent education and family support services while parents pursue their career and/or educational goals.

The transitional component of the STEPP program serves student parents who have graduated high school and their children who are age-eligible for our program. The program also serves community members who meet income eligibility requirements.
