Formerly known as Tahoe SAFE Alliance, Sierra Community House’s Crisis Intervention is dedicated to serving victims of intimate partner / domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. All services are free and available in multiple languages. Medi-Cal assistance is available through Human Services, one of six Divisions of County of Placer Health & Human Services.
Medi-Cal offers medical, dental, vision and mental health care to eligible individuals and families at little or no cost. If you are ineligible to Medi-Cal, affordable insurance plans are available through the health benefits exchange, Covered California, during their November through December open enrollment.

The Fire Safe Council of Nevada County offers brush Chipping Program that has been cleared from defensible space of any permanent structure, and/or 30 feet from any roadside or driveway used for evacuation purposes.
Wait time for this service can be weeks or months. The chipping service is limited to 4 hours per customer per application for $75/hour. A limited number of applications may qualify for free chipping services based on income, age, and/or disability.

If you are having a life-threatening emergency call 9-1-1. For example, if you have lost power to essential life-sustaining medical devices and do not have backup power for them, or you have a medical need for temperature control.

FREED works with the California Foundation for Independent Living Centers (CFILC) and PG&E to support people with disabilities and older adults during a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event or other emergencies due to power shutoffs. The goal is to enable them to remain safe while independent in their residences and communities.
Funding for some services listed below is ONLY for PSPS events (or other power outage events for which PG&E may activate FREED). There is no funding for generators. No generators are available through any of these programs.

The Senior Cafés program provides a hot, healthy lunch five days a week to seniors age 60 at over eight Senior Café locations throughout Placer County including Auburn, Lincoln, Rocklin and Roseville. The Senior Cafés are lively gathering places that help maintain clients' sense of community and connectedness.
Cost
Meals are provided for a small optional contribution. No one is ever turned away for lack of financial resources.
