Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy (HICAP) offers free local, individualized information and advocacy for Medicare beneficiaries and individuals becoming eligible within the next six months. Provides assistance to seniors or disabled persons with Medicare issues, including denials and appeals, supplemental insurance, and long term care insurance.
Volunteer HICAP Medicare counselors provide free, unbiased, and individualized counseling by appointment only.

Be My Eyes provides free video support at a moment’s notice. Every day, sighted volunteers and professionals lend their eyes to solve tasks big and small to assist blind and low-vision people through a live video call.

How It Works

• Anyone 17 or older may sign up as a visually impaired user or volunteer.
• Calls are connected based on daytime time zone and language. The average wait time is about 15 seconds.
• When a call is answered, a live one-way video (two-way audio) is initiated, allowing volunteers or company representatives to see what’s in front of the user’s camera and provide verbal support. Note: Specialized Help availability varies by region and company opening hours.

Angel Flight West delivers health and hope using donated flights to serve those with healthcare or other compelling human needs. In the air, Angel Flight West links volunteer pilots and commercial airlines with people whose non-emergency health needs require long-distance travel to access care. On the ground, volunteer drivers ferry passengers to and from their departure and destination airports.

Smile for a Lifetime Foundation provides free orthodontic treatment to qualifying people who may not otherwise be able to afford care.

Mercy Medical Angels offers free or low-cost transportation for those who cannot afford travel to medical appointments. Assistance may include air and ground transportation for medically necessary, non-emergency care.

Services include:

• Commercial airline tickets for long-distance medical appointments
• Free flights with volunteer private pilots when available
• Bus or train tickets for regional or long-distance travel
• Prepaid gas cards for qualifying ground travel

Crisis Text Line provides free, 24/7 mental health support and crisis intervention through text messaging.
