Tahoe Truckee Area Regional Transportation (TART) provides public transportation, much of it free, for the Truckee – North Lake Tahoe region. TART connects with Greyhound, Amtrak, and Truckee Transit at the Truckee Depot. Offers ADA complementary service for individuals who cannot ride a public bus due to physical, mental, or other health issues. If a person qualifies, then they can get door to door service within the TART fixed route. TART is a public transit service operated by the Placer County Department of Public Works, funded by Placer County, Washoe County Regional Transportation Commission and the Town of Truckee.

The Emergency Warming Center (EWC) in Truckee is scheduled to be open every Tue, Wed, and Thu through Thu 3/28/24 AND any other nights when weather triggers opening until 3/31/24.

WEATHER TRIGGERS FOR THE EWC TO OPEN

• A temperature of 15 degrees F. or less with windchill
• One foot or more of snow predicted overnight
• Other severe or extreme weather condition/s as forecasted by the National Weather Service such as heavy rain or winds
• and sufficient staff and volunteer coverage

• This is an Emergency Shelter for unhoused adults 18+ years.
• People who have housing but are stranded are unable to stay at the EWC.
• Families with children under 18 are unable to stay at the EWC but can call the program phone for resources.

The Tahoe Community Center is a welcoming place for all ages that promotes and supports our community through educational, cultural, fitness and sports activities. Improvements continue at TCPUD's newest property, formerly the Tahoe Maritime Museum Property, located just south of downtown Tahoe City at 401 West Lake Boulevard. The property consists of approximately 11 acres and features a 6,572 sq. ft. story log building, a serene park-like setting with gardens, a gazebo, and ponds area. TCPUD Recreation Offices are now located at this facility.

Offers thrift store whose proceeds support the Tahoe Forest Hospice Program. Donations of used good are accepted and tax-deductible.
