Balanced Bipolar & Depression Support provides peer-led support groups for people living with bipolar disorder or depression.

Meetings are also open to family members, friends, and mental health students who want to learn how to support individuals experiencing mood disorders.

Services include:

  • Weekly peer support groups via Zoom
  • Education and wellness resources for individuals and families
  • Local mental health and recovery resources
  • Mental health advocacy and stigma reduction

Meetings are held Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm on Zoom. Participants must call or email at least 24 hours in advance to attend.

The Arc of Placer County operates programs serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Programs include:

  • Adult Achievement Center (AAC): Offers vocational training, daily living skills, health and fitness activities, cognitive growth, and mobility training. Located in Auburn, the program promotes independence and community engagement.
  • On the Go (OTG) & On the Go Youth (OTGY): Provides social recreation programs for adults and transition-age youth. Activities include bowling, sporting events, group dinners, and attending local festivals.

The Victim/Witness program provides advocacy, information, and support services to victims and witnesses of crime in Placer County. Program services are free and available regardless of citizenship status. 

Eligibility requires that the crime be reported to law enforcement, that victims cooperate in the investigation and prosecution, and that victims did not contribute to the events leading to the crime.

Services include:

  • Court escort and support during criminal proceedings
  • Referrals for emergency assistance, including shelter, food, and clothing
  • Follow-up counseling and employer intervention
  • Reimbursement for mental health counseling, medical and dental expenses, wage loss, and emergency relocation costs
