Wayfinder Family Services has four programs serving Placer County. Three are direct referrals and one requires a call to the Placer County Mental Health Access line.

Kinship Support Services Program – call directly for referral. Wayfinder’s Kinship Support Services Program (KSSP) supports grandparents, extended family members or close family friends who step up to raise children so they avoid the trauma of separation from their birth family. KSSP is free of charge to families.

Home to Stay – can call directly or be referred by a provider. Home to Stay offers counseling and support services to kinship and birth families who are at high risk for out of home placement in Placer County. Wayfinder provides short-term in home counseling and parent education to enhance parenting skills, building supports and mitigating behavioral health risks to youth and families. Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides job training to Placer County residents aged 55 and over. SCSEP is a community service and work-based training program for older workers. Authorized by the Older Americans Act, the program provides subsidized, service-based training for low-income (not more than 125% of the established federal poverty guidelines) persons at least 55 years of age who are unemployed and have poor employment prospects. Participants in the SER SCSEP come from all walks of life, have diverse work experiences, and possess various levels of education.

Placer County provides Tick identification through Placer County Mosquito and Vector Control however, Placer County does not provide Tick testing (for Lyme Disease). Placer County Public Health Department refers people to other labs for tick identification and Immunofluorescence assay (IFA) for Borrelia burgdorferi (which can cause Lyme disease).

The Cirby Wellness Center offers an array of wellness services all in one place. Activities are facilitated by both peer and professional staff. The activities offered at the Wellness Center are free of cost and designed to foster a sense of community and shared recovery.

In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority works with the IHSS program to assist older adults and people with disabilities to remain safely in their homes and prevent the need for a higher level of care. The Public Authority assists Placer County IHSS Recipients who are hiring their home care provider(s), as well as those who need help finding a home care provider. The Public Authority also serves as the employer of record for over 4,000 IHSS Providers in Placer County.

Through the Public Authority, IHSS Recipients can gain access to the Registry - a home care provider referral service. Recipients are matched with screened IHSS Providers who meet their service needs. The Public Authority supports a positive, productive relationship between the Recipient and their care provider.
