The Placer County Fire Safe Alliance provides community assistance, information, and educational programs to reduce the risks of wildfire danger to life and property in Placer County.

Services include:

• Public education on fire risk and hazard mitigation
• Assistance with fire mitigation planning efforts
• Prioritization and securing of funding for coordinated fire-safe projects and activities
• Monitoring and reviewing fire-safe activities to ensure alliance goals are met

Placer County Office of Emergency Services (OES), in cooperation with local cities, special districts, and fire and law enforcement agencies, provides emergency management services. During an active incident that requires emergency sheltering, such as a fire or a flood, OES secures resources necessary for first responders to protect the community.

The CalFresh Healthy Living provides nutrition and physical activity education, along with projects that promote long-term healthy habits for income-eligible Placer County residents.

Services include:

• Nutrition and physical activity lessons to schools, community groups, and organizations
• Programs such as CATCH, cooking lessons, and Harvest of the Month (HOTM) kits
• School wellness policies and active transportation programs

To stay at The Gathering Inn, a referral through the Coordinated Entry system is required. To get a referral, call the Placer County Homeless Resource Helpline at 833-375-2237 (or 833-3PLACER).

The Gathering Inn Mid Placer operates a 100 bed emergency housing and services program located at the DeWitt Campus in Auburn, CA.

The Gathering Inn is staffed 24/7 and employs 4 full-time Case Managers who work with guests to identify and work through barriers to housing by discussing how to increase income, providing a connection to education, and securing sustainable housing.

Case Managers then provide follow-up support for up to 1 year in an effort to reduce homelessness.

Mid Placer provides:

• Safety and security on campus
• 3 meals a day
• Clean clothing
• Bedding
• Shower facilities
• Use of electricity to run CPAP and Oxygen machines
• Life skills courses
• Drug and alcohol recovery meetings​

• Primary medical care
• Nutrition and health education
