FieldHaven Feline Center’s Rodent Rangers program places unsocialized or semi-socialized cats into environments where they provide natural pest control in barns, sheds, warehouses, or similar spaces. 

The program gives cats who are not suitable for traditional adoption a second chance by matching them with property owners who provide food, shelter, and protection.

All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and health-checked before placement.

Services include:

  • Placement of feral or semi-social cats for natural rodent control
  • Matching support based on property type and needs
  • Pre-placement health care, including spay/neuter, vaccinations, and exams
  • Loaner cages and imprinting instructions for acclimating cats
  • Follow-up support and coordination with local shelters when needed

FieldHaven Feline Center’s Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) provides low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for owned, stray, and community cats, including medical care and wellness support.

The program helps reduce feline overpopulation and improve long-term animal health. Services are offered through FieldHaven’s Hathaway Veterinary Clinic, with trap loans and education available for feral colony caregivers and community members engaging in trap-neuter-return (TNR).

Services include:

  • Spay or neuter surgery for community and owned cats
  • Vaccinations, flea and parasite treatment, and microchipping
  • Discounted pricing for rescue organizations with proof of 501(c)(3) status
  • Trap loans and coaching for individuals conducting TNR
  • Community outreach and education on feline care and overpopulation prevention

Silver Wishes grants one-time wishes to seniors in Placer County who are facing physical, financial, or emotional hardship.

Typically, a person nominates someone in need to receive a wish.

Their wish criteria is as follows:

  • Wishes will focus on experiences and gifts that meet specific needs
    • Cash donations will not be granted; however, gift cards may be considered
  • Wishes will not include payment of monthly bills
  • Wishes for cars or housing will not be granted; however, minor repairs for these categories may be considered (no structural repairs or remodels)
  • Wishes will not include any dental or medical procedures
  • Wishes will not include any treatment or care for animals
  • Wishes are a one time gift (non recurring)
  • Final consideration will be placed on how this wish would benefit the recipient

Meetings are also open to family members, friends, and mental health students who want to learn how to support individuals experiencing mood disorders.

  • Education and wellness resources for individuals and families
  • Local mental health and recovery resources
  • Mental health advocacy and stigma reduction
