NAMI Nevada County (National Alliance for Mental Illness) is a grassroots, family, and consumer self-help support and advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with severe mental illnesses such as:

  • Schizophrenia
  • Bipolar disorder (manic depressive)
  • Clinical depression
  • Panic disorder
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

NAMI offers support groups and educational classes for families experiencing a mental illness, such as:

  • Family Support

      1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month
      5:30 - 7:30pm

      ZOOM Online Support Meetings
      2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month

  • Family to Family education class (two times yearly)
  • Monthly general education meetings

Steri-Clean offers an anonymous online hoarding support group. The group is completely anonymous and is open to hoarders, family members of hoarders, therapists, and anyone else who works with hoarders.

Steri-Clean also offers a message board and chat room.

Hold Onto Hope provides free, virtual suicide‑loss support workshops for individuals who have lost someone to suicide or want to support a suicide‑loss survivor. The program offers education on suicide grief, stigma, myths, emotional processing, and survivor needs. Sessions include guided journaling and a resource list. Workshops are open to all ages and available nationwide.
