Children's System of Care offers comprehensive services for children and youth who may be at risk in Placer County.

Eligibility

Eligibility for Placer Children's mental health services includes full scope Medi-Cal beneficiaries, and County Medical Services Program (CMSP) beneficiaries with low or no share of cost. Those who do not meet these eligibility criteria are assessed on an individual basis regarding their need for services.

Child Advocates of Placer County offers programs that support and work with children and youth.

• The Be Bold Youth Program pairs youth with an adult mentor who will become someone they can trust, learn with, and grow alongside. The hope is to provide life tools and skills that can empower youth to make safer and healthier choices.

The Crisis Resolution Center provides a toll-free 24-hour telephone number (available to teens and family members residing in Placer County only) for referrals, personal support, advice, and counsel to teens and parents/caregivers/guardians in crisis.

The Crisis Resolution Center provides solution-focused, trauma-informed, and person focus family intervention; which resolves family crises and establishes reunification of children ages 12-17 with their families. The Crisis Resolution Center, located in Loomis California, is a six-bed (co-ed) facility with counseling services, fully licensed and professionally staffed to provide short-term out-client family services and short-term residential care.

The team of trained house parents, child care workers, and a CRC Case Manager offers:

Koinonia Family Services provides foster and adoption services throughout California and Nevada. While foster care and adoption accounts for the largest part of their organization, they also have programs to treat, support, and improve the lives of foster children, adoptive children, group home children, and at-risk youth and families.

Koinonia is also represents the interests and rights of children and young people in "the system" through regulatory and legislative advocacy.

The Placer Sheriff’s Activities League is engaged in activities and events after school three days a week for local youth.

The events include mentoring, leadership and promote good decision making through sports and/or presentations. The program also implements a drug and gang prevention environment. Look under programs tab on website for specific details of each program.

The Placer Sheriff’s Activities League is facilitated at Parkside Church in Auburn and is hosted by a Placer County Sheriff’s Deputies, Placer County Probation, Children System of Care, Latino Leadership Counsel and KidsFirst.

The Placer Sheriff’s Activities League is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The Placer Sheriff’s Activities League, along with its partnerships, will work and provide youth with valuable life skills benefiting themselves and the community. Strives to prevent youth involvement of gangs as well as drug use.

Kinship Support Services Program – call directly for referral. Wayfinder’s Kinship Support Services Program (KSSP) supports grandparents, extended family members or close family friends who step up to raise children so they avoid the trauma of separation from their birth family. KSSP is free of charge to families.

Home to Stay – can call directly or be referred by a provider. Home to Stay offers counseling and support services to kinship and birth families who are at high risk for out of home placement in Placer County. Wayfinder provides short-term in home counseling and parent education to enhance parenting skills, building supports and mitigating behavioral health risks to youth and families. Victor Community Support Services offers programs providing a wide variety of mental health and social support services to children, youth, young adults, and families, including psychiatric services for children, youth, and adults. Victor partners with behavioral health, child welfare, and juvenile justice departments across California, tailoring services to meet each family’s needs.

Victor serves the youth and families of Placer County through its partnership with Placer County’s Coordinated System of Care. The office is in Roseville (moved from Rocklin). Granite Wellness Centers (GWC), formerly known as Community Recovery Resources or CoRR, provides comprehensive services to promote wellness for individuals and families with a focus on addressing substance use disorders.

GWC is a source of naloxone, a medication used to rapidly reverse opioid overdose.

Granite Wellness offers residential and outpatient substance use disorder treatment services for adults and youth with personalized treatment plans including group and individual counseling and other services.

Granite Wellness also provides transitional housing up to six months for adult men, women, and women with young children for people enrolled in outpatient services. Other services include educational groups for parenting, anger management, DUI services, Resilient Child program, Family Educational Series, and more.
