Alpa Oaks is open to women over the age of 18. There is no discrimination in the delivery of service due to race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, disability or ability to pay. The licensed Detox center can accommodate five women. It is under 24-hour supervision by specialized staff who are trained in dealing with the detox process and have immediate access to emergency medical assistance when necessary.

Residents are encouraged and assisted in planning their own recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction.

Alpha Oaks offers:

Sierra Mental Wellness Group provides professional and affordable individual, couple and family counseling, crisis services, child and adolescent programs, and mental health assessments. We seek to provide innovative as well as traditional approaches to solve problems and to address the identified needs of their clients. They treat a wide range of mental issues across the life span.

The Tahoe City location provides:
• Comprehensive Outpatient Mental Health Therapy
• Mental Health Assessments
• Targeted Case Management Services

Give an Hour is a national nonprofit that provides barrier-free mental health counseling through their network of mental health professionals. Volunteers work one hour per week for one year with people who qualify for our services. Current clients include service members, veterans, their loved ones, and those affected by natural and man-made disasters. In order to participate in the Give an Hour network, providers must register with the non-profit.
