Medi-Cal is California's Medicaid program. This is a public health insurance program which provides needed health care services for low-income individuals including families with children, seniors, persons with disabilities, foster care, pregnant women, and low income people with specific diseases such as tuberculosis, breast cancer, or HIV/AIDS.

Medi-Cal offers medical, dental, vision and mental health care to eligible individuals and families at little or no cost. Two mornings each week an eligibility specialist from County of Placer Human Services is available to assist eligible individuals applying for Medi-Cal, CalFresh, CalWORKs, and General Relief.

The drop-in service is open Monday and Thursday (excluding holidays) from 8am-12pm at 415 Roseville Square, Roseville, CA, 95678.

The program aims to streamline the process of applying for and managing food, healthcare, and other essential benefits. Residents can get assistance and ask questions about the status of their benefits. Bilingual support is available.

Placer County provides Tick identification through Placer County Mosquito and Vector Control however, Placer County does not provide Tick testing (for Lyme Disease). Placer County Public Health Department refers people to other labs for tick identification and Immunofluorescence assay (IFA) for Borrelia burgdorferi (which can cause Lyme disease).
