The Homeless Outreach and Medical Engagement (HOME) Team provides case management, outreach, and health services for people experiencing homelessness in Nevada County.

The team includes outreach workers, housing navigators, a peer support specialist, and a registered nurse. Services are provided in the field to meet people where they are. The program is a collaboration between Nevada County, Hospitality House, AMI Housing, and Turning Point.

Services include:

• Provides housing navigation and assistance
• Offers medical care and health education in the field
• Connects people to mental health and substance use services
• Partners with local organizations and agencies for collaborative care

Victor Community Support Services offers programs providing a wide variety of mental health and social support services to children, youth, young adults, and families.

Victor partners with behavioral health, child welfare, schools, and juvenile justice departments across California. To receive services, people must be referred by Nevada County Children's Behavioral Health or Child Welfare Services. Referrals from schools or the probation department must be funneled through behavioral health or child welfare.

Turning Point Community Programs provide a variety of mental health services for people with psychiatric disabilities to help them achieve recovery, independence, and self-sufficiency. People can self-refer for some programs and some programs require a referral from another agency.

• Insight Respite Center (IRC) is a four-bedroom home in rural Nevada County that is peer operated. The team fosters a stigma-free supportive and healing environment for adults (18+) with mental health symptoms who are experiencing a difficult time in their community. The team provides respite services to prevent a crisis from occurring or requiring hospitalization. Nevada Insight Respite Center (IRC) offers respite program for individuals with mental health challenges going through difficult times in order to prevent crisis intervention or hospitalization. Insight Respite Center is a peer centered program where guests are treated as equals on their road to recovery. They realize that fostering of self-esteem and self-respect is crucial to the health and well being of an individual. Peer Supporters are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for guests to connect with and experience mutual learning. We offer hope, compassion and understanding in a stigma-free environment.

To make a referral, please call Nevada County Behavioral Health at 530-265-1437 and ask to speak with the intake person of the day. If an individual is accepted, they will be contacted by a peer from Insight Respite.

The Auburn Seventh-day Adventist Church provides free food, clothing, and supportive services to people in need in the Auburn area.

Auburn Renewal Center (ARC) is a free medical clinic located on the grounds of the Auburn Seventh-day Adventist church. Auburn Renewal Center offers basic medical services to the under-insured, uninsured, and unsheltered residents of the greater Auburn area. Clinic is primarily for people 18 years old, low income, uninsured, under-insured, unsheltered. Children over 8 can be seen on a case by case basis.

Services are every Tuesday 9am-1pm, and Thursdays by appointment.
