Geriatric Care Manager Educational Consulting provides pro-bono (or pay forward) education and consulting services for the care of memory impaired elders.

• On-site training and consultations for professionals and family caregivers of memory impaired adults with Alzheimer's disease, related dementia, or movement disorder.
• Trainings for health care professionals and family caregivers in a variety of settings including individual homes, assisted living facilities, caregiver support groups, and hospice settings.
• Facilitation of a monthly Support Group for Families & Friends of People with Memory Loss at The Peace Lutheran Church (Grass Valley) on the first Wednesday of every month from 1-3 pm.
• Free, brief phone consultations to guide people to appropriate resources.

Depression Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) Auburn-Grass Valley offers a support group to people living with depression, bipolar disorders, or anxiety disorders. Attendees come together to learn from one another as they work towards wellness.

Hospice of the Foothills Bereavement and Community Services provides comfort, support, and education to those who have experienced the loss of a loved one, including loved ones lost to suicide. Grief support services are available to anyone in the community.

NAMI Nevada County (National Alliance for Mental Illness) offers a free 8 week educational program that helps family members and friends understand mental illness symptoms, basics of brain biology, problem solving, medications, empathy, communication skills, self-care, rehabilitation, fighting stigma, and advocacy.

The Healing Through Loss & Grief support group provides anyone who has experienced a significant emotional loss with an opportunity to meet with other grievers in a safe, caring, and supportive environment. The goal is to assist each other in the healing through grief process. Features weekly meetings and assignments.

Offered twice a year, usually in January and August, sessions are 13 weeks. The first two weeks are open to anyone, then the group is closed for the remaining weeks for those who wish to continue the process. It's best to attend all sessions, but one or two absences because of another commitment would be fine.
