Alpa Oaks is open to women over the age of 18. There is no discrimination in the delivery of service due to race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, disability or ability to pay. The licensed Detox center can accommodate five women. It is under 24-hour supervision by specialized staff who are trained in dealing with the detox process and have immediate access to emergency medical assistance when necessary.

Residents are encouraged and assisted in planning their own recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction.

This program is in the Sierra Nevada mountain range 30 miles east of Auburn in Placer County at 3700 feet elevation. It is a beautiful mountain setting located right at the snow line for a beautiful four seasons.

The home is a licensed for 10 women 18 years and older who may be accompanied by their minor children. When it is indicated we encourage children to accompany their mothers during the treatment stay.

The program is based on the individual treatment needs of the woman and can last from 30 days to 6 months. This is a small-scale program offering more personalized treatment.

This program is structured with room and board, 24 hour supervision, and over 30 hours per week of mandatory participation in scheduled recovery activities. These activities would include individual counseling, life skills, vocational rehabilitation, education and processing groups, parenting groups, family groups, recreation and support groups.
