Western Sierra’s Urgent Care clinic in Grass Valley offers patients access to health care providers for non-emergency treatment, from minor injuries to illnesses. Our Urgent Care clinic is open to anyone in the community and offers no-appointment-needed, same-day health care to patients without a primary health provider — or patients whose primary health provider is not immediately available.

Offers a 23-hour program that provides emergency psychiatric care in a warm, welcoming environment for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, including suicide issues.

Provides initial evaluation with assessment of needs and helps develop a recovery plan providing the next steps toward wellness.

Includes assistance with Medi-Cal, CalFresh, and other needed resources as well as follow-up support for families and individuals.

Open from 10am-10pm every day for immediate evaluation and treatment. After hours, all evaluations occur in the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Emergency Department. Referrals from other agencies, including primary care physicians, therapists, substance abuse providers, and law enforcement are welcome from 10am-10pm daily.

Lifeline Process:

2. The associate will then communicate with subscribers through a two-way voice communicator that has been installed in their home
3. The associate will then assess the situation and contact a neighbor, family member, or emergency services based on their specific needs

CALSTAR is an emergency air ambulance provider serving Northern & Central California. We work cooperatively with medical facilities throughout our service area to transport patients to the most appropriate facility for care.

Helicopter bases are located in:

Each base's service area covers approximately 150 miles.

Billing

Individuals and/or families can pay for an annual membership for Calstar services. In the event of use, the patient's insurer is billed first; if there is a remainder fee and you have an annual membership, that fee is waived.

During COVID-19: Now offering 15 minute result Rapid COVID-19 tests by appointment and walk-ins. If COVID-19 test is to be sent to a lab (not a Rapid COVID-19 test), results will take 2-4 days.

Insurance:
Call or visit online to see if your insurance is accepted and may help to cover the cost. A​ll patients need to see a provider at Sierra Doctors Medical Group first for COVID-19 tests to be covered by insurance (if your insurance is accepted). There may be a co-pay at the time of the visit.

Cost:
Rapid COVID-19 tests may cost $125. COVID-19 tests, if sent to a lab, will result in a cost sent to the patient from the lab.
