Each school district and county office of education must designate an educational liaison for foster and homeless youth. The Foster and Homeless Youth Liaison ensures proper educational placement, school enrollment, and checkout from school. Additionally, the Foster and Homeless Youth Liaison assists with the transfer of grades, credits, and records when there is a school change.

The Placer County Office of Education plays a major role in the education delivery system for students in Placer County. The office exists to provide leadership and service to our schools and communities. As mandated by the education code, PCOE provides direct educational programs for specific student populations and financial oversight of budgets of the school districts in Placer county.

The iCare Come Back Program is for students 17 years and older who have not completed high school and who wish to obtain a high school diploma.
