Camp Woolman is a small community in the Sierra foothills where kids and teens come to hike, swim, make friends, play sports, do art, and much more. The small camp size (24 campers and 7 staff members) ensures that every child is given the attention and encouragement they need to just be themselves and have a great time. Through simple living and joyous adventure in an accepting community, Camp Woolman inspires individuals to value nature, value themselves, and value others in order to build a more peaceful and just world.

This summer camp serves kids and teens ages 9 to 17. One and two-week sessions are available in June and July.

Wombat Campers (ages 9-14) spend half the week living in rustic cabins, and the other half backpacking in nearby areas such as Tahoe National Forest, Desolation Wilderness, and along the Yuba River.

Sierra Harvest supports families in growing a portion of their fruits and vegetables at home. Works with each family to build a backyard garden and provides classes, mentoring, and supplies for two years to ensure a successful experience. Offers hiking trails ranging in difficulty from wheelchair accessible to challenging. Features docent-led history, nature, and gold-panning tours at select times throughout the year.

Provides access to the Independence Trail - an aqueduct adapted to carry wheelchairs and hikers across the Independence Trail gorges. Features waterfalls, scenic vistas, and a gentle switch-back descent to a mountain stream. Restrooms with full wheelchair access are available at several points along the trail.

St. James Community Garden has garden boxes available for purchase at low cost. They will provide you with courses on gardening and nutrition, and will assist with planting the fruits and vegetables that will grow each season. However upkeep of the box is expected on behalf of the owner.

Extra produce that is produced each week is donated weekly to their food pantry.

Improvements continue at TCPUD's newest property, formerly the Tahoe Maritime Museum Property, located just south of downtown Tahoe City at 401 West Lake Boulevard. The property consists of approximately 11 acres and features a 6,572 sq. ft. story log building, a serene park-like setting with gardens, a gazebo, and ponds area. TCPUD Recreation Offices are now located at this facility.
